AdCare Hospital is seeking Nursing Students to monitor the safety of patients while in a detox setting. This is a flexible per diem schedule between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., 7 days a week.
The monitor will follow the direction of Nursing to accompany and supervise detoxing patients to activities off the unit and back to the unit via elevator. Rounds patients up 5 minutes prior scheduled activity and remains with patients at all times. Encourages patients eligible to attend activities off of the floor. Updates Nursing of any issues that occurred while off of the unit upon return. Contacts the nursing unit for guidance if patient demonstrates any issues requiring nursing services. Must be able to communicate specific concerns when asking for guidance. Arranges for patient to be accompanied back to detox unit if necessary (patient requesting).
Requirements: Nursing Student or C.N.A./Medical Assistant (not currently AdCare employee). Ability to recognize and report any emergent medical needs of patients during a counseling session in a timely manner. Ability to assure patient safety during activities in a group setting. Previous exposure to the field of substance abuse treatment desirable.
All positions require a TST, MMR Titer, the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening (including THC), and satisfactory criminal background records check
