The Department of Population Health Sciences (DPHS) in the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University (AU) invites applications for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions in Health Economics and Modeling at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in the Division of Health Economics and Modeling (HEM). We are seeking an individual with excellent communications skills and strong interest in and passion for methodological and collaborative research, teaching and mentoring.

Candidates at the associate/full professor level must also have a strong and sustainable record of extramural funding support. The successful applicant may also have the opportunity to independently work to build and sustain reputable training and research programs in health economics and policy. Key competencies for this faculty position include significant experience in complex cost-effectiveness analysis, experience with performing health technology assessments, familiarization with global models of health care financing, and strong econometric skills.  Experience with modeling software such as Treeage Pro are also highly desirable. Strong writing skills are also required for this position, as the expectation of this faculty member will be to take a leadership role in the dissemination of key divisional research activities via presentations and publications.

The DPHS strives to build a transdisciplinary research infrastructure, educational programs and community partnerships to improve the health of all populations. The HEM division is composed of MCG and AU faculty members with experience in health economics, advanced mathematical modeling of disease, clinical practice, and health policy.  By combining the research, clinical, administrative and education expertise of a diverse group of members, the division represents a truly multidisciplinary team. Within the DPHS are two other Divisions: Biostatistics and Data Science; and Epidemiology. DPHS currently offers Masters and Doctoral programs in Biostatistics, Masters in Data Science, and Masters and a Certificate programs in Clinical and Translational Science, and plans are underway for  developing  Masters and Doctoral programs in Epidemiology.

MCG, Georgia’s only public medical school, has a long tradition of excellence in education and clinical care. Founded in 1828, MCG is one of the nation’s first medical schools, the 8th largest in the nation for total enrolment, and has helped enhance healthcare in Georgia and beyond through education, discovery and service. MCG has 23 academic departments, 920 medical students, 527 residents training in 51 programs, and 791 faculty members. It is the founding college of AU, one of four research-intensive universities in the University System of Georgia. Minimum Requirements  

A doctoral degree in health economics, health services research or a closely related field is required.
