An integral member of the healthcare team, coordinates patient care and communicates and collaborates extensively with the other members of the healthcare team, patients and/or patient s family/guardian.
Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
Provides patient and family education relative to nursing/medical and clinical services.
Consults with medical specialists associated with patient s current treatment and/or treatment history.
Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment to patients admitted to the program.
Perform nursing histories and physical assessments.
Facilitate patient and families in meeting their psychosocial needs.
Provide medication evaluations and management in collaboration with the program s Medical Director/Psychiatrist.
Administer medication to patients as prescribed.
Must possess a Master s Degree and must have current and valid Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice Nurse license.
Certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
Must have State of NJ prescriptive authority.
Have a thorough understanding of use of psychotropic medications.
Shall be involved in continuing education activities to further his/her own professional development.
