Description SHIFT: PRN SCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem LewisGale Medical Center (LGMC) delivers quality care to our patients located in the beautiful mountainous region of Southwest Virginia. SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs and/or observes specific treatments/interventions/procedures for selected patient care responsibilities under the direct supervision of an Extern Coach. Demonstrates the ability to identify unusual circumstances in the patient care environment. Provides immediate support, as needed, under supervision of Extern Coach in effort to facilitate patient care. Demonstrates professionalism through interaction and communication with co-workers, patients, families, physicians and other departments. Participates in Standardized Interdisciplinary Rounds daily. Participates in Leader Rounding and other department rounds, monitoring that evidence based care, unit/hospital standards of care and core measures are being met. Under guidance of Extern Coach, facilitates Performance Improvement activities. Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility and creative problem-solving skills when dealing with others including those culturally diverse, departmental staff, physicians, patients, or families. Provides excellent customer service and is front line in Service Recovery if required. Facilitates throughput of admissions, discharges and transfers. Qualifications EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of at least one Adult Medical/Surgical clinical within their Nursing Education program and in good standing as a Nursing Student. (required) EDUCATION: Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. (required) LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Healthcare Provider upon hire.
