Responsibilities

Department description:

It provides in-home mental health and crisis intervention services to individuals who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis and are unable to secure traditional mental health services in the community.

Job description:

Responsible for providing mental health assessment and treatment to patients with psychiatric symptoms, cognitive deficits, and/or behavioral problems. Provides advanced nursing care in collaborative practice with AMH psychiatrist. Works under general supervision.

Licensure: License and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required. License as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of New York required. Valid driver's license required.

Education: Master's degree in psychiatric nursing required.

Experience: Bilingual skills may be required, as determined by operational needs required. Minimum of one year of experience in a medical/surgical/psychiatric environment preferred. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.
